MediaTek 64-bit

MediaTek has announced new 64-bit mobile system on chip (SoC), MT6735, incorporating the modem and RF needs of wireless operators globally. Mediatek says that the MT6735 Mainstream WorldMode Smartphone Platform will ensure better performing devices at a "mid-range" price point by integrating four 64-bit ARM quad-core 1.5GHz Cortex-A53 processors into one tool. The platform comes with an ARM Mali-T720 GPU, LTE modem with Comprehensive RF support (B1 to B41) and dual-band WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity. MediaTek stated that it sees a "continued consolidation of smartphones" into a large mid-range market it likes to call "the super mid-market".
