The new update brings bug fixes and “addresses a problem where ringtones purchased through the iTunes Store may have been removed from your device.”
Apple has also shared a dedicated url - itunes.com/restore-tones – for helping users retrieve ringtones. The latest iOS 8.1.2 is the fifth update for iOS devices ever since iOS 8.0 made its debut about two months ago.
Apple had launched the iOS 8 update in September this year, touting it as the biggest update since the App store. Apple soon launched another update, version iOS 8.1, which brought Apple Pay support for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, updates to photos and messages and Wi-Fi performance improvements.
Apple's latest operating system has a sluggish start as it is marred with a number of bugs. Back to back updates in a short period is also likely to irk Apple users. The new update, however, is just 28.2 MB, given users already have iOS 8 installed.
