Harman has announced the JBL GO wireless portable Bluetooth speaker in India, exclusively on Snapdeal. Though the speaker carries an MRP of Rs 2,999, it is now available for an introductory discounted price of Rs 1,999. However, it should be noted that the JBL Go was announced last month at the CES 2015 for $30 that translates to approximately Rs 1,864.
The palm size (82.50 x 29.95 x 67.91mm) JBL GO sports a square, box-like design. It comes integrated with buttons for power, Bluetooth, volume and call answering along with a mic. Harman has also employed an echo and noise-cancellation technology.
“The portable Bluetooth speaker market is booming in India and JBL has taken the lead in gaining significant mindshare in this space. Snapdeal has become the preferred destination for bluetooth speakers with the widest range of products at best prices. Being the largest marketplace with instant access to over 40 million users across the country, it gives brands an opportunity to launch products with instant reach to all our users. JBL Go on Snapdeal will be accessible to consumers across 5000 towns and cities. The product in itself will be a trendsetter in the market and we are excited about this launch,” said Tony Navin, Senior Vice President, Electronics and Home, Snapdeal.com.
The whole package is backed by a 600mAh battery that promises up to 5 hours of audio playback. Snapdeal is currently selling the black variant, there is no word on whether the other colour options – Black, Red, Orange, Pink, Grey, Blue, Yellow and Teal – will be made available in India.
Those who buy the device via Snapdeal’s mobile app can also take home two months of Hungama Pro subscription free.
