Union Minister for Communications and Information Technology Ravi Shankar Prasad on Saturday said that the report on net neutrality would be out once the TRAI report is out.
“Report of net neutrality will be out soon. But as I said in the Parliament, I will have to await TRAI report also. We are expecting that the RBI will give license for payment bank to the Department of Post by August,” said Ravi Shankar.
More than 100,000 users have petitioned the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) to prohibit telecom operators charging extra money from users and companies to open application faster, and slowing down the speeds for those who don’t pay.
The government has set up a committee that would come out with its internet neutrality report in the second week of May.
