Microsoft on Monday announced its plans to launch Windows 10 on July 29 all over the world, including all Microsoft retailers and stores, in a first of its kind for the Redmond-based tech giant.
Microsoft generally goes for a single launch party in its marketing efforts focusing on fans. The tech firm has already grouped millions of fans, the number at a staggering 5 million Windows 10 testers, which is impressive by any count.
The tech firm in a blogpost by Yusuf Mehdi, who runs marketing for the Microsoft division that includes Windows, stated, “We will make Windows 10 available, across 190 countries, as a free upgrade or with new PCs and tablets. We are excited to bring Windows 10 and its many innovations to the world.”

Featuring new innovations like Cortana, Microsoft Edge and Xbox integration and you can upgrade for free beginning on July 29 claimed a blog post by the company.
Earlier, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella told ZDNet that the Windows will serve a bigger platofrm. “In my case I have a Band. I have my phone. I have my Surface. I have my Surface Hub and I’ll have a HoloLens. And that to me is all Windows 10. And I’ll seamlessly move between all of these. I want the notifications to flow between all of these. I want my data and apps to flow between all of these things.The tech firm hopes that its marketing efforts will help it hit its target of making the new OS available on 1 billion devices within three years,” he said thumping on the brand and its wide spread.
From the beginning, Windows 10 has been unique – built with feedback from its fans, delivered as a service and offered as a free upgrade. It approach to launch is also unique – just focused on Windows 10.
To begin with, Windows fans in following cities will be able to enjoy the launch of the OS and get a chance to meet Windows team members — Apart from New Delhi in India, global cities such as Sydney, Tokyo, Singapore, Beijing, Madrid, London, Sao Paulo, New York City, Dubai, Nairobi, Berlin and Johannesburg will join the party to welcome the launch of Windows 10 on July 29.
For the first time, the tech giant is giving away flagship OS for free of charge to many PC owners. The company hopes free approach will strengthen Windows as a gateway to sell other Microsoft products and services. “We’ve made it free. That alone is going to be the big thing, that gets people excited,” said Yusuf Mehdi.
