After sluggish pre-booking figures and lower than expected demand of the new iPhone 6s and 6s Plus in India, Apple is now looking to target corporates.
According to a new report by The Economic Times, Apple has begun targeting corporates and institutions in India for the first time by appointing around 130 corporate resellers across the nation. It reportedly also includes tier II and tier III cities such as Agra, Aizwal, Mathura, Bhopal, among others. This will help the company expand the reach of its products such as iPhone, iPad and iMacs in the country.
The company plans to further increase the number to 200 resellers next year by March. Citing two trade partners, the report reveals that Apple is building a separate dealer network for the education sector to reach out to schools, colleges and other educational institutions. The company is expecting growth in revenue by 15 to 20 percent via enterprise segment. With this, it also wants to ensure there is no slowdown in the consumer market.
Apple has been focusing on the enterprise market across the globe, especially considering the falling iPad sales. In India, the new iPhones received lukewarm response, owing to several factors such as high pricing and the ‘S’ not-so-progressive year. The company is also trying to spruce up consumer sale by offering big exchange discounts.
