World's thinnest laptop

HP has launched the world's thinnest laptop HP Spectre, in India. With price starting at Rs 1,19,990, the laptop will be available starting July 25.

As thin as a single AAA battery , HP Spectre measures 10.4mm (0.41-inch) at its thickest point. This makes it slimmer than the 12-inch MacBook (0.52- inch) and MacBook Air (0.68-inch).

Another USP of the laptop is its copper design blended with carbon fibre, which gives it a premium look. HP Spectre features 13.3-inch full HD screen with Corning Gorilla Glass protection. There's 8GB LDDR3 RAM and 512GB SSD storage, along with 6th generation Intel Core i5/i7 processors thrown into the mix.

The laptop features a hybrid battery that lasts up to 9.45 hours on a single charge, as claimed by HP. It also has 3 USB Type-C I/O ports.

HP Spectre is also the company's first laptop to bear its new logo, comprised of four slanted lines that make the word 'HP'. So far, it's not clear if HP will be using the logo for its other products or just restrict it to the premium line-up.

Recently, HP launched a revamped line-up of its business laptops in India. The newly launched products are -- EliteBook Folio , HP Elite x2 1012, HP EliteBook Folio 1040 G3 and HP EliteBook 840. Priced at Rs 1,28,000, the EliteBook Folio is HP's thinnest and lightest business notebook. It measures 12.4mm and weighs less than 1kg. Priced at Rs 95,000, the Elite x2 1012 laptop-tablet hybrid sports a milled CNC-aluminium body. It is 8.1 mm thin and has a 12-inch HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection.

HP also launched its EliteBook Folio 1040 G3 and HP EliteBook 800 G3 series notebooks, priced at Rs 90,000 and Rs 69,000 respectively.
