Oppo launches Joy 3, priced at Rs 7,990


Oppo has launched a budget smartphone - Joy 3 - priced at Rs 7,990. The smartphone competes with the likes of Lenovo A6000 Plus, Lava Iris X8, and Huawei Honor 4C.


The dual-sim smartphone, runs Android 4.4 KitKat skinned with Color OS 2.0 UI and has a 4.5-inch FWVGA (480x854p) IPS display.
Powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582M processor and 1GB RAM, the smartphone comes with 4GB internal storage. Users can slip in microSD cards of up to 32GB capacity for additional storage.
The phone supports 3G, GPRS/EDGE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microUSB and GPS connectivity options.


Oppo Joy 3 packs a 2000mAh removable battery and comes with a 5MP rear camera with LED flash and a 2MP front camera.

Oppo N3 with rotating 16 MP camera

Oppo has launched its new flagship smartphone in India, called Oppo N3, for whopping Rs 42,990. As per the press released, it will be available for pre-order, but at the time of writing it wasn't available on any leading e-retailers site. The highlight of N3 is its rotating camera module like its predecessor, the Oppo N1 and N1 Mini.

The Oppo N3 has a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) display, thus offering pixel density of 403ppi, and the display has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection as well. This 8.7 mm thick handset (161.2 × 77 × 8.7 mm) weighs 192 grams. The Oppo N3 is based on the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system and has Color OS 2.0 interface. It runs on a 2.3 GHz Snapdragon 801 quad core processor and 2 GB RAM. The N2 has 32 GB of internal memory and offers additional 128 GB micro SD card slot. To run this huge smartphone, there is a 3000 mAh Li-Po battery that comes with flash charge facility.

The highlight of Oppo N3 is ofcourse its rotating camera - a 16 megapixel unit that has Schneider-Kreuznach certified lens and it claims to be able to capture pictures with maximum resolution of 64 MP. The camera has a pixel size of 1.34 micron and 5 optical lenses.
The OPPO N3's motorized swivel camera comes with PI 2.0+ technology can track objects as they move, and can rotate up to 206 degrees. "The smartphone is equipped with a multi-frame synthesis super-sampling technique that can combine multiple low resolution RAW images into an ultra-high resolution picture with greater details," Oppo further claimed.
The Oppo N3 has two SIM slots - one for micro SIM card and another for a nano SIM. It is compatible with4G-LTE networks though the press release issued by Oppo India talks nothing about that. It has many other connectivity features like US OTG, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi (b/g/n/a/ac), WiFi Direct, WiFi Display, GPS andNFC.

Micromax launches 4K-UHD TVs starting at Rs 39,990

Domestic manufacturer Micromax has launched its first 4K Ultra High Definition television range in India. The 4K UHD TVs are available exclusively via online retailer Flipkart for Rs.39,990 for the 42-inch variant and Rs.49,990 for the 49-inch model.


The Micromax 42-inch 4K Ultra HD TV supports 178 degree viewing angle and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) OS. It comes with a dual-core CPU and dual-core GPU with 2GB DDR3 RAM and 2.2 GB memory expandable up to 32 GB. The television supports Miracast to pair your smartphone, mirroring its content on the TV and has a smart remote with gravity sensors and voice command search. 
The 49-inch 4K Ultra HD variant features 178 degree viewing angle. It runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) and gives quick access to Facebook, Twitter, Gmail and more. It has a dual-core CPU and quad-core GPU coupled with 1GB DDR3 RAM, 2.5GB in-built memory expandable up to 32GB. The television comes with preloaded with popular games including Riptide, Turbofly and Speedx3d. 
The 4K Ultra High Definition televisions come preloaded with Google Play Store, and support WiFi connectivity. They supports M! Screen to share data on a home network via DLNA by pairing smartphone or a tablet with the television.

Micromax Bolt Q324 With 4-Inch Display Now Available Online at Rs. 3,990

Micromax's latest budget Android 4.4 KitKat-based smartphone, dubbed the Micromax Bolt Q324, is now available through an online retailer for Rs. 3,990. Last month, Mumbai-based established retailer had tipped the launch of the smartphone at the same price, but didn't give out all specifications. Micromax has now also listed the Bolt Q324 on its website, but hasn't detailed any official price for it.

The dual-SIM Micromax Bolt Q324 runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat out-of-the-box and features a 4-inch WVGA (480x800 pixels) display. The smartphone is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core (unknown chipset) processor coupled with 512MB of RAM. It comes with 4GB of inbuilt storage, which is further expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB).
The Micromax Bolt Q324 sports a 2-megapixel fixed-focus rear camera with LED flash and a 0.3-megapixel front camera. On the connectivity front, the smartphone offers 3G, GPRS/ EDGE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, A-GPS, Micro-USB, and Bluetooth options.
The handset packs an 1450mAh battery, which according to the official listing is rated to deliver up to 7 hours of talk time and up to 279 hours of standby time. The Micromax Bolt Q324 is available via eBay.
Earlier this month, Micromax launched its first Android 5.0 Lollipop OS-based handset in India - the Canvas Fire 4 - at Rs. 6,999. The Micromax Canvas Fire 4 features a 4.5-inch FWVGA (480x854 pixels) resolution display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The handset is powered by an unspecified 1.3GHz quad-core processor, coupled with 1GB of RAM. The smartphone also houses an 8-megapixel rear and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. It is backed by a 2000mAh battery.

Touted as the ‘iPhone 6 killer’, Oppo R5 Gilded Limited Edition smartphone has gone on sale in India. A variant of its slimmest smartphone, R5 Gilded is Oppo’s high-end smartphone, which comes with a price tag of Rs 29,990. The smartphone is available to pre-book at stores in India.
Oppo plans to make only 10,000 units of the smartphone globally, however, it is not clear how many of those will be available for the Indian market.
The Oppo R5 Gilded Limited Edition smartphone flaunts a chic gold finish on the edges of the device. Running on Android 4.4 KitKat operating system, the smartphone is powered by a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core 64-bit processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage.
The Gilded R5 features a 5.2-inch full-HD AMOLED display. It sports a 13MP primary camera with Sony Exmor IMX214 BSI sensor and a 5MP front facing camera with 83degree wide-angle lens. The smartphone is fuelled by a 2000mAh battery, which comes with Oppo’s VOOC charging technology that promises to charge 75 per cent of the battery in 30-minutes.
On the connectivity front, the Oppo R5 Gilded Limited Edition features 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.0 and GPS.

Samsung Galaxy Grand Max listed online at Rs 15,990

Samsung has silently launched Galaxy Grand Max, its budget phablet offering in India at Rs 15,990. 


The phone has been listed on e-commerce marketplace Snapdeal but is not available for purchase at the moment. 
The Samsung Galaxy Grand Max sports a 5.25-inch HD (720x1280p) TFT display. The phone measures 7.9mm in thickness and weighs 162gram. 
Powered by a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor and 1.5GB RAM, the smartphone comes with 16GB internal storage expandable up to 64GB via microSD card. 
It sports a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front-facing camera for selfies.
In terms of connectivity, the dual-sim smartphone supports 3G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and GPS. It's powered by a 2500mAh battery.

Galaxy Grand Max runs Android 4.4 KitKat with Samsung's TouchWiz UI skin on top.
