Asus launches Windows 8.1 EeeBook X205; priced at Rs 14,999

Over the last couple of years, we have seen the category of netbooks almost become irrelevant thanks to tablets. But Asus seems to be reintroducing its netbook series – the EeeBook and has launched the EeeBook X205 today at a price of Rs 14,999.

This Windows 8.1 OS sporting 11.6-inch compact notebook still sports an Intel Atom processor, but comes in a much more sleeker design and better build quality. You can check out our first look at the Asus EeeBook X2005TA here.
The Asus EeeBook X205 is powered by an Intel Bay Trail Atom Z3735 processor which is a 1.3GHz quad-core processor. It is paired with 2GB of RAM and comes with integrated Intel HD graphics. On the storage front, you get a 32GB space of which 20.8GB is available to the user. On on side of the X205, you have a microSD card slot which supports microSD, microSDHC and microSDXC cards.
The 11.6-inch display sports a glossy finish and has a native resolution of 1366 x 768, which gives a sharp display. It weighs just 980 grams and is just 17.5mm thick, which makes it quite portable.
Sadly, there are only two USB 2.0 ports on the X205. Asus could have included at least one USB 3.0 port.
The Asus EeeBook X205 will be available in blue, white, gold and red colour variants. It will start selling on Flipkart today and eventually through Asus stores from February onwards
